World record holder Elin Haf Davies is rowing across an ocean to raise money for the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity!
Nurse Elin, who, in 2008, became part of the first all-female crew to cross theIndian Ocean, has joined the famous Clipper round the world race. She will be part of the Visit Finland yacht crew as they cross thePacific Ocean– a distance of 5,600 miles!
Elin, who grew up in North Wales, says “I’m very proud to team up with the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity and I hope to make a real difference to the lives of children in Wales.”
The journey – involving tumultuous seas – will take thirty-three days, but Elin is keen to learn how to sail. Elin’s destination is the Golden Gate bridge in San Francisco. This will be the third ocean she has crossed.
