Toby has an Anaesthetic

Home » Toby has an Anaesthetic

Many children visit hospital, afraid of their impending treatment,  an operation or the surroundings of a large unfamiliar building with lots of new people and strange noises.

To alleviate some of the fear and stress associated with and operation Paediatric Anaesthetist Dr Laura McClelland, from the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport has produced the following cartoon, in conjunction with University Health Board Consultant Paediatric Anaesthetists Dr Chris Gildersleve and Dr Chris Froom, based at Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales.

Watch Toby explain to his little sister that she needn’t be nervous about going to hospital and having an anaesthetic.
