At the Children’s Hospital forWales’ reception on July 10th Jill Lougher arrived with her companion Dorothy, a cheque for £250 and a knitted quilt. The cheque was made out to the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity while the quilt was knitted in fond memory of their loving friend Maureen who was a great contributor and fundraiser for the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity. The quilt bared a beautifully embroidered design featuring every letter of the alphabet with an animal to match it (e.g a zebra for Z).
The quilt was donated to be used either as a raffle, quiz or auction prize or alternatively as a gift to be hung up at the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales. We are currently torn between the two options as we know it would make a handsome prize for a lucky person and no-doubt raise a lot of money in an auction, but we also like it so much we want to keep it for ourselves!
Jill and Dorothy met the Noah’s Ark appeal’s Chairman Lyn Jones and had a chance to see the hospital, we hope to see them again soon!
