Christmas is a time of giving and this year at the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity we have sure seen lots of generosity!
This year our Christmas Stocking Appeal looks set to reach £25,000 as funds keep rolling in. This is a huge figure to raise and we couldn’t be happier to thanks all the companies and individuals who supported the Appeal.
On Monday 17th December, Patron, Charlotte Church and Father Christmas paid a very special visit to the hospital to deliver hundreds of toys bought for the wards and playrooms of the hospital. These toys will now be split between the nine play areas of the hospital and the rest of the money raised will go to buy specialist equipment for the Critical Care Unit which treat the most critically ill and venerable children in Wales.
The Christmas party was alight with joy as carols played and Charlotte pulled crackers and played games with the delighted children. Gathered around the Christmas tree, Charlotte and Father Christmas chatted to the children, had photographs with them and helped them unwrap the presents.
Charlotte said: “It’s such an incredible charity. It’s not an easy thing being in hospital especially at Christmas so this brings a little bit of light relief. I love coming here.”
Charlotte spoke of how amazed she was at the support from the public for this year’s appeal and Director Suzanne Mainwaring agreed: “We wouldn’t be here today without the generosity of the people of Wales. Not everyone is lucky enough to be at home at this time of year so it’s nice to bring a bit of sparkle to the hospital. Even in these tough economic times people are still digging deep.”
We would like to say a huge thank you to all the companies and hundreds of individuals who have supported us this year to raise such a fantastic amount!

International Greetings – who through employee fundraising raised a fantastic £1,300 and donated wrapping paper galore and special crackers for the festive period!
BWM – who bought the Play Station the hospital have been wanting!
The Entertainer – who gave us £1000 to spend in theirCardiffstore to buy lots of the gifts on the wishlist!
Peacocks – who through sample sales raised a fantastic £10,000 after reading about the Christmas Stocking Appeal.
