Welsh Children’s Charity, The Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity, brought Royal Ascot Ladies Day to Chepstow Racecourse and raised much needed funds of £34,600.00 for the Children’s Hospital for Wales.
The Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity fundraising event, based around Ladies Day at Royal Ascot, was held at Chepstow Racecourse where the 310 guests arrived in their fabulous hats, finery and outfits, and were treated to a fine dining experience whilst enjoying live Royal Ascot facing action across the Racecourses’ televisions.
To add to the excitement, the event was hosted by a lively compere, who ensured that all of the guests knew who the winners were and also that plenty of donations were made! In addition to the compere, a team of bookmakers were on hand to take winning and losing bets!
Money was raised for the charity by ticket sales for the event, sponsors for the day, a Gold Cup raffle and auctions were held throughout the afternoon.
The Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity began in 2000, fundraising to build the first purpose built hospital for sick children in Wales. The hospital was officially opened in 2006, and since then the charity continues their work, exclusively raising money for the Children’s Hospital for Wales. The fundraising relies on the support of individuals, companies, charitable trusts, organisations and schools across Wales and beyond.
One of these generous people is Eddie Hayward OBE, Chairman of Chepstow Plant International and Vice Chairman of the charity. Over recent years, Eddie and his family have raised thousands of pounds for the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity.
A huge measure of Julie Hayward and the Hayward family’s success was the amount of money they raised for the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity. The event raised a total of £34,600.00, an astonishing £3,500.00 increase on last year’s total all of which was donated to the children’s charity.
Chepstow Racecourse commented “It was an absolute pleasure to work with Julie Hayward on this event, and I am truly amazing at the fantastic amount raised for such a worthy cause. The feedback from the event we have received has been excelled, and both the staff and I are looking forward to welcoming this fantastic event and the Hayward Family back to Chepstow Racecourse next year.”
