The Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity as well as over forty other charities from across South Wales yesterday attended a reception at the Cardiff City Stadium to receive their share of a million pounds donated by its Malaysian owner Vincent Tan. Joined by manager Malky Mackay and the team’s senior squad, Mr Tan presented a cheque to Noah’s Ark Chairman, Lyn Jones and Fundraising Manager, Paula Langston.

This donation will make a real difference to the 100,000 vulnerable babies and children in Wales each year that need specialist and often life-saving treatment.

Cardiff City FC is to donate £1million a year to local charities as long as billionaire Vincent Tan remains the club’s majority shareholder and the Bluebirds stay in the Premier League.

Cardiff City FC owner, Vincent Tan said; “I firmly believe Cardiff City’s promotion to the Premier League after a long 51-year wait to play at the top level is a blessing,”

“And, with the grace of God, we want to use this blessing positively to support the charitable organisations and disadvantaged members of the South Wales community, in particular in Cardiff and the valleys where most of our supporters are based. For every year we remain in the Premier League and I remain the majority and controlling shareholder, everyone at the club will be honoured to share our Premier League rewards with those in need in our communities.”
