Welsh swimming sensation Jazz Carlin, yesterday named Sky Sports News Sportswoman of the month, has had a year to remember. Winning two Gold medals at the recent European Championships in Berlin, which followed up a Gold medal at the Commonwealth Games, Jazz is the first Welsh swimmer in 40 years to win Gold in the pool.

Wednesday 10th September was another significant day in this exciting year as she joined the rest of Team Wales as they took part in a parade of Cardiff Bay to celebrate the team’s success in Glasgow’s 2014 Commonwealth Games. Before she joined up with the team Jazz made one very important stop, Wales’ golden girl visited young patients at the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales.

Speaking about her visit, Jazz said; “I am delighted to be given the opportunity to be here at the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales, it is a great privilege to meet the patients and staff who work day to day at the hospital. Seeing the smiles on the children’s faces was amazing and it’s so good to see the results of the great work that Noah’s Ark do with the help of so many people across Wales.”

Lyn Jones, Chairman of the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity said; “We are thrilled that Jazz has found the time to visit the hospital on this special day for Team Wales. It is great to see her chat with the patients and they have enjoyed trying on her medals. Jazz is a great supporter of our Charity and will also be coming along to take part in our Family Fun Walk on 21st September.”
