An aspiring Mary Berry from Cardiff has raised £75 for the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital Charity by making and selling more than 100  gingerbread men to office workers – and she’s only five years old!  Little Sophie Briggs spend the last day of her half term holiday baking and decorating the gingerbread men before selling them to staff at Motovona Finance in Llanishen where her dad works.

Charity Director, Suzanne Mainwaring, said: “We’re delighted that Sophie chose us as the charity to benefit from all her hard work. The children of Wales have been with us every step of the way, from naming our wards and launching our Hydrotherapy pool appeal, ‘Splish Splash Splosh’, to making and selling badges and emptying their own piggy banks for us.  It’s lovely to see the children of Wales, even ones as young as Sophie, doing something to help their peers.”

Asked why she chose to fundraise for the Noah’s Ark Charity, Sophie said: “Some of the pupils from my drama club raised money for the charity and I wanted to help to the poorly children too.”

Thanks Sophie.  You’re a little inspiration!
