Patients at the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales were enthralled yesterday when dancers from the English Youth Ballet made the reception area come alive.
Principal dancers from the production of Giselle at the New Theatre entertained the patients by performing their daily warm-up routines and showed the children what daily life as a dancer involves. They also explained ballet moves, poses and their meanings to the children, which was very interesting for the staff and parents as well as the patients. The children even enjoyed trying out a few moves for themselves!
This was followed by a magical scene from Giselle which the patients watched with sheer delight.
The English Youth Ballet are perfoming Giselle at the New Theatre, and will also be raising money for the MRI scanner needed in Phase Two of the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital. Patients and staff at the Hospital were delighted to receive an invitation to watch the full ballet after enjoying the magical workshop yesterday.
