Santa’s Grotto Site Supervisor

Location: IKEA, Cardiff
Contract: Fixed-term, part-time (November 22 – December 23, 2025)
Salary: £12.60 per hour (in line with the Real Living Wage)
Hours: 4 consecutive days per week to always include Saturday and Sunday
(Thursday–Sunday, Friday–Monday, or Saturday–Tuesday)

The Noah’s Ark Charity supports the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales, helping to ensure that children receive world-class care and that families have the best possible experience during difficult times. Having raised more than £30 million to build and equip the hospital, we continue to fund state-of-the-art equipment, family support services, and our incredible play specialist team.

This Christmas, our much-loved Santa’s Grotto returns to IKEA Cardiff and we’re looking for a Site Supervisor to help make it the most magical year yet!

In 2024, the Grotto raised over £30,000 and welcomed more than 1,500 families, creating unforgettable moments while supporting our work at the hospital. We’re now looking for someone organised, energetic, and full of festive cheer to lead our team of volunteer Santas and elves.

About the role

As Site Supervisor, you’ll be at the heart of our Christmas fundraising efforts ensuring that every visitor enjoys a seamless and joyful experience. Working closely with the charity’s events manager and events & volunteering coordinator, you’ll oversee daily grotto operations, brief and support volunteers, and maintain the warm, welcoming atmosphere our visitors love.

You’ll manage daily set-up and close-down, oversee cash handling and paperwork, liaise with IKEA colleagues, and help keep everything running smoothly. This role also involves getting stuck in as part of the elf team, spreading smiles, solving problems, and making sure Santa stays on schedule.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience engaging with a wide range of people and can communicate clearly and confidently.

  • Can stay calm and professional under pressure, with a practical, problem-solving approach.

  • Enjoys leading teams and motivating volunteers.

  • Has strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Brings warmth, enthusiasm, and a can-do attitude during the busiest festive rush.

  • Is available to work four consecutive days per week (always including Saturday and Sunday) between 22 November and 23 December 2025.
