In aid of Mother’s Day we asked our patients to tell us why their mum is special. 5 lucky mums were then chosen to receive a pamper courtesy of House of Fraser Cardiff.

Have a read of some of the wonderful reasons why these mums are so special…

“My mum is special because she is the best mummy. She will always be there for me, she is the best mummy ever and she made me. Love you mum.”

“My mum is special because she gives the best squishes and looks after me.”

“My mum is special because she is loving, understanding, and the kindest mum ever. I have a condition called vici syndrome so rare I am the only child in the UK with it. I have spent around 28.5months in hospital and my mum has looked after and supported my every need. I have complex health needs and my condition can be very challenging. My mum never moans even when she has no sleep cause I am poorly. She fights for me and ensures I have everything I need so I have the best quality of life possible. My mum is a very strong and brave person and I am very lucky to have a mum who loves me so much and who has the determination to push me and achieve things doctors said  I would never do. I am very proud of my mum and I would like her to win so I can say thank you.”

“My mum is special because she is the bestest mum in the whole world and she never stops doing things for me or other people. She really deserves to do something for herself. My mum goes out of her ways and looks after everyone else before herself, and is the most thoughtful and gorgeous and selfless person ever.”

“My mum is special because she is extra special. She has been by my side every day of my life. I don’t know anyone with a more generous heart than she has got. Out of the last 12months I have been in the hospital for 5 of them and my mum has been there for me every day. I can honestly say I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for my mother!”

“My mum is special because she looks after me when I’m ill and I can’t get up.”

“My mum is special because I have been in the hospital for 6 months and my mum stayed with me even though she was 7 months pregnant. She always has a smile on her face, and I now have a baby brother who visits me. After spending so long in hospital, my mum deserves a special pampering treat, as she is a special mum.”

“My mum is special because she is always kind to me and she’s so beautiful.”

“My mum is special because she’s wonderful, she looks after us and I love her very much.”

“My mum is special because she is the best at painting and colouring with me.”

“My mum is special because she is the best mum in the universe. I love her so much she’s amazing, great and I cannot say good because she is so much better than good. I love her so much and she should have the pamper experience!”

“My mum is special because she doesn’t go out much because she’s always with me.”

“My mum is special because she does my treatment every day and when I get a bad leg or arm she does my drink and I have haemophilia… I have worked with this family for the last 8 years and have an excellent working relationship with them. (Patient) treatment is extremely time-consuming often taking several hours on a daily basis and often throughout the night. Mum always remains cheerful and incredibly caring and a constant positive support for (Patient). (Haemophilia Play Specialist).”

“My mum is special because she’s the best mum and I love her because when I am ill she always looking after me. Her cooking is the best. She helps me improve everything. My mum she always makes me laugh and she is generous. She always has a smile on her face. She buys me so many things as well. I don’t know what I would do without her.”
